Investing in Yourself

As a woman and a mother we constantly give to others. We are taught that it is noble and rewarding. And it is. What we are not taught is to take out time to refuel and refresh ourselves. It may be looked upon as selfish, self-centered or narcissistic. But, I assert to you that it is vital. I went for many years dipping out of an empty bucket. Or, I would only refill to give out to others. How noble is that? (sarcastic tone implied) Hold on a moment, Let me polish my halo :)

Today I made a purchase that made me cringe. My husband encouraged me to do it. It was almost $500. My mind raced to think of all the other ways that money could be spent. But, it was an investment in "Me" and my business.

When we are healthy emotionally, spiritually and physically, we are much more helpful and can do more good. If we care for and value ourselves our families and circles of influence will be more healthy. I challenge you to take a few minutes out for yourself today. Read a book, draw a sketch, write down a bucket list, pray, do something that feeds your soul and spirit and moves you forward.
